We understand the country life isn't for everyone and some might prefer to stay in Dublin for the entirety of their trip or something in between country and city (if this is the case we recommend Dun Laoghaire's Haddington House or Royal Marine Hotel). Please by all means make this trip what you would like. If you would like to join in any of the activities and to get to/from the wedding is still very possible and easy to do. Private transportation to/from the wedding with a taxi or uber will only be around €40 to/from Dublin. Please see our list of recommendations if you'd like help in selecting a hotel in Dublin.
Wicklow is a beautiful county of Ireland. Nicknamed "The Garden of Ireland," it is one of our favorites! It is a favorite with filmmakers as well and was the setting for many films including, P.S. I Love You and Braveheart. Wicklow is a county diverse in landscapes with a varied coastline of long sandy beaches, hidden coves and rugged cliffs. Dotted around the hills and mountains are a mix of traditional picturesque villages, like Enniskerry and Roundwood and more urban towns, such as Bray and Greystones. Wicklow and Arklow both have an attractive harbour, which support a fishing community. For those who are interested in a bit of Irish country, relaxation, outdoor adventures and just a beautiful view of Ireland's landscape, it is a great place to visit. It is in this county, in the town of Enniskerry, where Christian's grandparents used to secretly meet before being married when mixed religion marriages were taboo. Also the county where Christian spent his summers growing up at his family's summer home in Arklow, Wicklow. With that said, Wicklow is a special place for us and we believe Wicklow would be great to visit for at least 2 days and 3 nights if you can manage it. To see more about what to do while here look at our list of recommendations.

Christian and I will be checking into Druids Glen on July 4th and checking out on July 8th. Here are three hotels we recommend to accommodate for those with different budgets and needs.
Summerhill House
Convenient boutique hotel
(More Budget Friendly)
A beautiful country house hotel located just 30 minutes south of Dublin city just on the outskirts of Enniskerry. Only 5 minutes away from our venue, Powerscourt (map). On this property, the hotel offers the Rainforest Day Spa and a restaurant. This hotel doesn't offer block bookings so if this property is appealing to you, I highly suggest you book your room as soon as possible. The rates range from $113-$188 (€94-€157) and includes breakfast. Note: They do have a wedding on-site July 7th so the latest check-out possible is Saturday July 7th. To book this hotel call +353 1 2867928 or click here to visit their website.

Druids Glen
boutique 5-star experience
(our choice)
An elegant country experience only 30 miles south of Dublin in Newtownmountkennedy and about 20 minutes from our venue (map). Set in 400 acres of countryside between the Wicklow Mountains and the Irish Sea, you can enjoy the stunning setting, two golf courses, a luxury spa and health club, a signature restaurant, a bar (open until 3am) and a golf clubhouse restaurant. Guests can enjoy complimentary use of the resort bikes to explore in addition to the walking trail. To see more about attractions around Druids Glen, please visit their site or our recommendations. We have requested the hotel block a number of rooms for the nights of 4-8 July and provide a special rate for guests. The rates range from $196-$293 (€165-€245) and includes breakfast and taxes. If you would like to book, please call them at +353 1 287 0847 or email reservations@druidsglenresort.com and be sure to mention you are attending "Renee & Christian's Wedding" to get the rates! (Note: Feel free to book any combination of nights. You do not need to stay all three nights to get the rate.)
