We met back in November 2011 one very late night at Mad River on the Upper East Side in Manhattan - Christian was coming in and Renee was heading out. Our serendipitous introduction was all thanks to Deanna, Alex, and, ultimately the reason for all the connections, Saltwater Grill.  We spent the next year getting to know each other, having lots of fun nights back at Mad River, and spending the summer in Westhampton until the next November when Christian had to head back to Ireland.  We spent the next several years going back and forth visiting each other as often as possible. Christian was even able to come back to live in the States for about a year in the middle. We wouldn't change anything that led to where we are now but it was a hard few years. The long distance ended in the summer of 2016 when Christian returned to the States. In December 2016, on our family trip to Disney World, Christian popped the question to Renée in front the castle (5 years after meeting!) and here we are! Along the way we took some amazing holidays (California, Disney, Arizona and Italy to name a few), accomplished many challenges together, got to know each others friends and family, and met amazing people together. We can't wait to continue our journey together and its a great realization every time we remember we never have to be long distance again!
